Patina Osaka Set For Debut In Japan This May

No matter where your day takes you, Patina Osaka ensures you’re right where you belong!

Ushering in a brand new era of transformative luxury, Patina Osaka, the first Japanese property from world renowned Patina Hotels & Resorts, is set to debut on 1 May 2025. Set between the  grounds of Naniwanomiya-Ato and the storied Osaka Castle, Patina Osaka reflects kisetsukan – the Japanese art of seasonal awareness – with spaces that flow in harmony with nature’s rhythm. The property is a 21-storey hotel brought to life through a collaboration between Jun Mitsui & Associates Architects and interior design firm Strickland.

This newest hotel in the heart of Osaka features 221 rooms and suites, each featuring interiors inspired by the rich history and cultural heritage of the land. The natural wood elements and expansive windows frame views of Osaka Castle Park or Naniwa-no-miya Park allow the guests to witness the changing seasons from their private retreat. Its Deluxe Rooms are among the most spacious in Osaka, with a tatami seating area doubling as a sofa brings an element of traditional Japanese seating.  Additionally, all rooms feature yoga mats as a central tenet of the guest experience. In addition, 48 corner sanctuaries feature expansive balconies to take in fresh air and stunning park views below. The Patina Suite, the hotel’s largest features a generous living room, fully equipped kitchen, dining area and a private balcony with sweeping views of Osaka Castle, the Patina Suite also features a steam sauna. The living area is equipped with a turntable and high-quality audio speaker, creating an immersive environment that will delight even the most discerning audiophiles.

The hotel’s culinary offerings are truly exceptional. Among their five dining venues,  Iñaki, a Basque grill takes centrestage while P72, the signature restaurant, presents conscious cuisine that respects Japan’s 72 micro-seasons. Nijiri Tea Lounge invites quiet moments of contemplation with carefully selected regional teas, complemented by the refined ambience of Sonata Lounge & Bar. For those seeking the artistry of Japanese cuisine, Barin offers an intimate teppanyaki experience where each dish tells a story of tradition and craft.

For those seeking relaxation and little time for their holistic wellness, the  Patina Wellness is perfect. Spread across an entire floor, the Patina Wellness is a thoughtfully designed space, which promises rejuvenation for guests. Patina Spa complements a serene 20-metre pool and contemporary gym. Here, innovative therapies merge with time-honoured practices – from the revitalising embrace of cryotherapy at subzero temperatures to the gentle restoration of hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Infrared sauna and red-light therapy rooms offer natural pathways to enhanced circulation and cellular renewal, each treatment carefully customised to support deep rest and recovery.

The hotel features a number of public spaces including the Listening Room by OJAS, a place for tune lovers that houses custom-built speakers renowned globally as works of art. The space features curated vinyl collections and cultural texts. Created in collaboration with Brooklyn-based sound pioneer Devon Turnbull (OJAS), the space offers sunrise sessions and evening soundscapes complementing the natural rhythm of the day, while regular events welcome vinyl collectors and musicians to share their selections. The property also hosts a number of activities and workshops for all the guests including Herbal Tea Workshop, Fermentation and pickling workshop, Lunches, weekly gathering (with complimentary snacks) and DJ nights at Sonata Bar & Lounge.
